Peoplecall Alarm Receiver Installation
Discover how easy it is to integrate Peoplecall Alarm Receiver
into your Alarm Monitoring Station.
Peoplecall Alarm Receiver is compatible with all alarm monitoring software: Mastermind, IBS (SBN), Manitou, SoftGuard, Kronos, etc.
Connecting with Peoplecall Alarm Receiver
For the alarm management software, Peoplecall Alarm Receiver is a standard Sur-Gard MLR2000 Receiver, but its connection IP is located on the Internet, outside the company's local network.
The simplest solution would be to provide the Alarm Management Software with the IP address for connection, completing the connection.
However, this presents several issues, such as the MLR2000 sending signals in clear text and the usual connection programs not being designed for external receivers, which may lead to latency and reconnection problems.
Therefore, it is necessary to install an SSL Proxy, such as stunnel proxy. This program is lightweight and consumes minimal resources. Ideally, it should be installed on the same server as the component that connects to the receiver, such as the Signal Processor (SP) in the case of Mastermind (MAS) or the Hub in the case of IBS (SBN).
The function of this proxy is for the Alarm Management Software to connect to it, which in turn connects to Peoplecall Alarm Receiver using a secure SSL connection and handles reconnections sequentially with Peoplecall Alarm Receiver's signal servers (Virtual Receiver) in case of failure.
Peoplecall Alarm Receiver provides all necessary configuration files, required SSL certificates, and tutorials for implementing this connection.
Multiple Connections
Peoplecall Alarm Receiver supports multiple connections that act as failover. If the client installs several tunnels in the same alarm central, Peoplecall Alarm Receiver will send signals through all available connections without repeating any signal and always maintaining the order of arrival. This way, in the event of a connection failure, the service remains operational.
Additionally, Peoplecall Alarm Receiver supports multiple reception centers, multiple tunnels, and rule-based routing to duplicate and facilitate signal delivery even in case of connection failures.
Heartbeats
Peoplecall Alarm Receiver has Heartbeats activated every 30 seconds to ensure that at least one frame is sent through the connection every 30 seconds, similar to the Sur-Gard receiver, maintaining the alert system of the Alarm Reception Software.
In Case of Disconnection
In the event of a failure and if no tunnel is available, signals are queued in Peoplecall Alarm Receiver for up to 48 hours and sent to the tunnels when the service is restored, always maintaining the order of arrival.
